Kathryn Davis is a 20-year-old, 12th-generation Pennsylvanian with deep roots in Lancaster County and a heart for service.
A sophomore History major and ROTC Cadet at Shippensburg University, Kathryn also serves as ROTC Social Media Coordinator and is working toward her goal of commissioning as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
Her experiences have taken her from dance studios and community events to blood drives, ROTC training, public speaking, and the Miss Pennsylvania stage. Through each opportunity, Kathryn has discovered that what she loves most is bringing people together, learning their stories, and helping others see why those stories matter.

Turning Experience Into Action
One way Kathryn has put that commitment into action is through PhlebotomyFam, the blood donation initiative she co-founded with her mom.
PhlebotomyFam encourages families and communities to make blood donation a tradition while connecting potential donors with existing opportunities to give.
Kathryn has used public speaking, community partnerships, social media, and educational outreach to help more people understand that every blood type has the power to make a difference.

Kathryn's path has given her opportunities to lead and serve in very different environments.

The Miss America Opportunity gave Kathryn a platform to grow as a public speaker, advocate, representative, and community ambassador, including service as Miss Lancaster County's Teen and Miss Lancaster County 2026.

Who is Kathryn Davis?
Kathryn Davis is a 20-year-old, 12th-generation Pennsylvanian from Lancaster County. What is PhlebotomyFam?
PhlebotomyFam is a blood donation advocacy initiative co-founded by Kathryn and her mom. Its mission is to encourage families, friends, and communities to donate blood together and make giving a tradition. Its message, It Takes All Types To Save Lives, reminds people that everyone has a role in supporting the blood supply.
Why is blood donation important to Kathryn?
Kathryn's advocacy grew from personal experience. At age 14, she survived a serious youth group bus crash in which several of her friends required blood transfusions during their treatment and recovery. The experience showed her firsthand the importance of blood donors and inspired her to help others understand the difference they can make.
What is Kathryn studying?
Kathryn is a sophomore at Shippensburg University studying History while participating in Army ROTC. She also serves as Social Media Coordinator for Shippensburg ROTC and hopes to commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army after graduation.
Was Kathryn Miss Lancaster County?
Yes. Kathryn served as Miss Lancaster County's Teen 2024, Miss Greater Reading's Teen 2025 and Miss Lancaster County 2026. Her time in the Miss America Opportunity gave her opportunities to serve throughout Lancaster and Berks Counties, advocate for blood donation, develop as a speaker, and build relationships with people and organizations across the community.
How can I get involved with PhlebotomyFam?
PhlebotomyFam is not about starting new blood drives. It focuses on filling the ones that already exist. Kathryn often says, “It’s not a lack of blood drives that is the problem, it’s a lack of awareness about where to go donate and how powerful your donation is.”
