Wow… what an unforgettable week at the Miss Pennsylvania Scholarship Competition!
I’m still glowing from the experience of competing for Miss Pennsylvania’s Teen 2025, and I’m incredibly proud to share that I placed in the Top 9 among a phenomenal group of talented, passionate, and service-driven young women. Being on the Appell Center stage was truly a dream come true. I will carry the friendships, lessons, and joyful memories with me forever.
One of the best parts of the week was getting to spend time with my Miss Pennsylvania Belle, Grace. She brought so much joy, energy, and heart to every moment. I absolutely love the Miss America Little Sisters program because it gives young girls a chance to build confidence, ask questions, and form meaningful relationships. Some of the most influential women in my life have been my "Misses," who poured so much time and love into me both on and off the stage. Now, it is an honor to continue that tradition by mentoring Grace and watching her shine. The sisterhood in this organization is real, and I am so proud to be a part of it.
This week wasn’t just about competing. It was about community and celebrating the four points of the Miss America crown: service, scholarship, success, and style. I’m thrilled to share that more than $75,000 in scholarships were awarded, and with your generous support, I was able to raise over $5,000 to help make this opportunity possible.
I also want to send a huge congratulations to Victoria Vespico, our new Miss Pennsylvania 2025, and Lynzi Allen, our incredible Miss Pennsylvania’s Teen 2025. These two remarkable women are going to represent our commonwealth with strength, poise, and passion, and I can’t wait to cheer them on in all they do.
As many of you know, blood donation advocacy is the heart of my mission. After surviving a youth group bus crash and seeing my friends rely on donated blood to survive, I knew I had to take action. I co-founded PhlebotomyFam to encourage families to give blood together. It’s a cause that means everything to me, and I’m committed to spreading awareness, saving lives, and building a more generous future.
As I continue my year as Miss Greater Reading’s Teen, I would love to visit your school, business, community group, or event. I’m available to speak about:
- The importance of blood donation
- My experience recovering from the crash
- The Miss America Opportunity
- Or simply spend time connecting with and encouraging our community
Thank you so much for being part of this journey. Your support helped make all of this possible, and I hope I’ve made you proud. This crown shines bright, but it’s the kindness and love of the people around me that make it truly meaningful.
It Takes All Types To Save Lives,
Kathryn Davis
